In May 2025, partners of the LiTE Academy (LinguaTech Europe Academy) project gathered in Diyarbakır, Türkiye for the official kick-off meeting hosted by Dicle University. Over three days, researchers, teacher educators, and project partners came together to launch a shared vision for supporting language teachers across Europe.
The meeting, held at the Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education, marked the beginning of a collaborative journey focused on strengthening digital, inclusive, and multilingual teaching practices in language education.

Building a Shared Vision
The kick-off meeting began with welcome speeches and an introduction to the LiTE Academy project, highlighting its goals, structure, and expected outcomes. Partners also introduced their institutions and roles within the project, helping establish a strong foundation for collaboration and teamwork across the consortium.
During the sessions, partners worked together to clarify project responsibilities, form key committees—including the Steering Committee, Scientific Board, and Quality Assurance Committee—and discuss how the project will be managed and implemented over the coming years.

Planning the Work Ahead
A major focus of the meeting was planning the project’s upcoming activities. Partners discussed the timeline for future meetings, webinars, and training events, and began shaping the roadmap for the project’s core educational outputs.
One of the key components of LiTE Academy will be the development of DIMs training modules, focusing on three interconnected areas:
Digital pedagogies
Inclusive teaching practices
Multilingual education
These modules will support teachers in developing new competencies and responding to the realities of today’s diverse and digitally connected classrooms.
In addition, the consortium explored strategies for dissemination, communication, and social media engagement, ensuring that the project’s activities and results reach educators, researchers, and stakeholders across Europe.

Up Next
The kick-off meeting confirmed a strong shared commitment among partners to work together in building innovative approaches to language teacher education. With clear goals, defined responsibilities, and an ambitious roadmap ahead, the LiTE Academy project has officially begun.
Over the coming months, the project will continue to develop training modules, organize professional learning activities, and build a growing network of educators interested in digital, inclusive, and multilingual language teaching.
